Website Builder Overview

The Website Builder lets your landscaping company build and publish a public marketing website without hiring a web designer. You pick a starter template, drag ready-made sections (“blocks”) onto your pages, fill in your own words and photos, and publish. Your site goes live at a web address like /site/your-business-name, and you can connect your own custom domain later. To create your first site step by step, see Build Your Site.

Before you start

  • An operator account with the Website item under Tools in the left sidebar. (If you don’t see it, the Website Builder isn’t enabled for your account yet — contact support.)
  • Nothing else needs to exist first. The builder walks you through everything, and a setup checklist tracks what’s left before you can go live.
  • Each account can create a limited number of websites (shown as “X of Y websites used” on the Websites page). Delete an old site to free up a slot.

What the Website Builder includes

The Websites page

Go to Tools → Website to see all your sites, each with its status (Draft, Published, or Archived), a Manage area, and quick Publish / Unpublish / Delete actions. Click New Site to start another.

The site workspace

Opening a site shows a workspace with tabs across the top:

Tab What it’s for
Build site Your pages, the site-wide Header & Footer, and the Navigation Menu. This is where you’ll spend most of your time.
Photos Your site’s photo library. Upload images once, reuse them anywhere.
Recent work Add completed projects (photos + descriptions). These feed the Project Gallery (auto) block.
Reviews Add customer reviews (name, rating, quote). These feed the Reviews (auto) block.
Blog An optional built-in blog with posts, categories, and tags.
Domains Connect your own domain name (e.g. acmelawn.com) when custom domains are available on your server.
Insights Visitor stats — connect your Google account to see Analytics and Search Console numbers right in the app.
Contact forms Create and edit the forms visitors fill out. Every form needs its own “Send Responses To” email.
Inbox Every message visitors send through your forms, kept even if the notification email didn’t reach you.
Business info & design Site settings: your business details, logo, colors and fonts, search (SEO) settings, visitor tracking, and the Publish site button.

Templates

  • Starter site: when you create a site, the Lawn Care Starter option builds four ready-made pages (Home, Services, About Us, Contact) plus a working quote-request form, pre-filled with the business description and services you enter in the wizard. Blank site is available for advanced users.
  • Page templates: when adding a single page later, you can start from Blank page, Home, Services, About Us, Project Gallery, Reviews, Contact / Request a Quote, or FAQ.

Blocks (the drag-and-drop editor)

Each page opens in a visual editor. You drag blocks from the panel onto the page and edit the text and images in place. Blocks are grouped into:

  • Landscaping — full page sections built for lawn and landscape companies: Big photo banner, Ratings / Trust Strip, Services (icon cards), Services (photo cards), Service Tiers / Pricing, Stats / By the Numbers, Before / After Slider, How It Works, Certifications Band, Satisfaction Guarantee, Questions & answers, Google Maps Location, Trust Badges, Seasonal Promo Banner, About / Story, Team / Crew, Get-a-quote strip, and Quote Request Form.
  • Basic — simple building pieces: Heading, Text, Image, Button, Divider, Spacer.
  • Layout — Section, Section (dark), and 1 / 2 / 3 column layouts.
  • Header / Footer — a special palette (Full Header, Footer, Auto Nav Links, Brand / Logo, Header button, Social Row, Copyright Bar) shown when you edit the site-wide header or footer.

Live data blocks (update themselves)

Three blocks pull real content from your site workspace, so the page updates automatically without re-editing:

  • Project Gallery (auto) — shows the projects you add on the Recent work tab.
  • Reviews (auto) — shows the reviews you add on the Reviews tab.
  • Blog Posts (auto) — shows your latest published blog posts.

In the editor these blocks show a placeholder; on your live site they fill in with your real content. Add a project or review once and every page using the block updates.

What happens next

Once your setup checklist essentials are done and you click Publish site (on the Business info & design tab), your site is live on the internet at /site/your-address — and at your custom domain once one is connected and active. You can keep editing after publishing: page changes go live when you click Save & Publish in the editor.

Tips & best practices

  • Start from the Lawn Care Starter. It’s much faster to replace words and photos than to design pages from scratch.
  • Feed the auto blocks. Add 3–6 projects under Recent work and a few reviews under Reviews early — social proof is what visitors look for first.
  • Follow the checklist. The “Website setup” card on the Build site tab lists exactly what’s left before you can publish, with a Recommended next step button.
  • One site is usually enough. Your account has a website limit; keep a single polished site rather than several half-finished ones.

Troubleshooting

  • I don’t see “Website” in the sidebar — the Website Builder feature isn’t enabled for your account. Contact support.
  • “Limit reached: You can create up to X websites” — delete an existing site from the Websites page to add another.
  • A Project Gallery / Reviews block shows nothing on my live site — you haven’t added any projects or reviews yet. Add them on the Recent work or Reviews tab.
  • The Domains tab looks disabled — custom domains aren’t set up on your server yet. Your site still works at its /site/your-address web address.
