AI Credits in the Site Builder

The AI Site Builder uses AI credits when the AI writes or reviews something for you. Everything you do yourself is free. The cost of an AI action is always shown before you start, and you are charged only when it succeeds.
Before you start
- AI is included on every paid plan and is not available during the free trial. Your plan comes with a monthly allowance of credits. See AI Features and AI Usage.
- Your balance shows in the editor under the chat box (“N AI credits left”) and on the last step of the guided setup.
What uses credits, and what is free

The exact number of credits is shown on each button or in the cost line before you use it, for example “This uses 26 AI credits” on the last step of the guided setup, or Check my whole site (10 credits). Building costs more with more pages, so a one-page site costs less than a five-page one.
When you are not charged
- The AI couldn’t make a safe change. If the AI’s answer would break your site or isn’t something it is allowed to do, you see a friendly message and nothing is charged.
- Something went wrong. If a build, review or request fails, the message says “You were not charged.”
- Your team found nothing to change. A review that changes nothing costs nothing.
Credits pay for the AI’s work, so they are used when a change is proposed to you, whether you then choose Keep it or Undo.
Steps
Check your balance and history
- Look under the chat box in the editor for your current balance.
- For the full picture, go to Settings > AI Usage. It shows your plan credits, top-up credits and what each feature used this month.
Buy more credits
- In the editor, choose Buy more credits (shown when you run low), or go to Settings > Plan & Features > Add-ons.
- Choose a top-up pack. Top-up credits never expire and are used only after your monthly plan credits run out.
What happens next
When your monthly allowance resets, your plan credits are refilled. Any top-up credits you have left carry over.
Tips
- Do the small things yourself. Fixing a word or swapping a photo is free and instant.
- Use the full check (Check my whole site) when you want everything checked. It covers all four experts, including the Copywriter, for one price.
- Pick fewer pages for the first build. Ready-made pages added later are free.
Troubleshooting
- “You’re out of AI credits”: the chat shows Buy more credits. You can still edit everything yourself, and your team’s free checks keep running.
- Build my site is disabled: the build costs more credits than you have. Buy a top-up pack, or untick a few pages.
- I was charged but don’t see the change: if you chose Undo, the change was not kept. Ask again and choose Keep it.
