What the Crew Mobile App Does

Last updated October 29, 2026 · Owners, crew leads, crews

The crew mobile app is the phone half of the product. Crews get their day, run it, and record what they did, and the office sees it without a phone call. Everything a crew does on the phone writes to the same records the office is looking at.

Before you start

  • Crew Mobile App must be switched on in Settings > Plan & Features.
  • Each crew member needs a user account with mobile access enabled. See Manage Users.
  • The office decides what is on the day. Anything not scheduled to that crew, on that date, is not on their phone.

What a crew can do

See the day. Today’s stops in order, with the customer, the address and the time. A visit that belongs to a program shows the program and round under the job name (for example “Lawn Care · Round 2: Pre-emergent”). Day navigation moves between days, so a crew can look ahead or check yesterday.

Run the route. The stop order the office set on Route Management, with the day’s route on a map. Users with Mobile Admin Access can move a stop up or down on the Route tab; moving one stop of a recurring visit changes that day only, as on the office Route page.

See the property map. If the office has drawn a property map for the site, the visit screen shows it with its legend, measurements and instructions. Report a map problem sends a note back to the office.

Navigate. Tap the address for directions, rather than re-typing it into a maps app.

Record arrival. Marking arrival timestamps the visit, so the office can see the day progressing in real time.

Update status. Start, complete, or skip with a reason. A skip is a real outcome with a reason attached, not a visit that quietly never happened. When a crew completes the last visit on a job, the job is marked complete too, exactly as when the office does it, so a job billed on completion is invoiced.

Log chemical applications. Where your plan includes Chemicals, a crew records what was applied on the visit (one or more products in one application), and can edit or void an application they logged. See Chemical Logs. Without Chemicals on your plan, this section does not appear.

Record weather. The weather readings for the visit, which a crew can add, edit or remove while online.

Take photos. Before and after photos attach to the visit, and become the proof of work the office reviews and, where you have enabled it, what the customer sees in their portal.

Leave notes and comments. Notes on the visit, kept per visit (each day of a recurring visit has its own), so what happened on site reaches the office in the crew’s own words.

Work checklists and forms where your company uses them.

Capture a signature. A customer can sign on the phone at the end of a visit, and sign an estimate on the spot.

Look up jobs and customers. The Jobs and Customers tabs let a crew find a job or customer while in the field. Users with Mobile Admin Access can also add a customer, lead, job site, job, visit, or estimate from the phone. Customers, leads and a customer’s contacts take a First name (optional) and a Last name or company name, the same as in the office; a business puts its whole name in the second box.

Get office messages. The Inbox under More shows notifications from the office, such as a new note added to one of today’s visits.

Bill the job. Owners and supervisors with Mobile Admin Access can invoice a job, or one of its completed visits, from the job screen. See Invoice a Job from the Crew App.

Proof of work

Photos and field activity roll up into the Proof Of Work card on the Dashboard: visits reviewed, complete proof, missing after photo, missing field activity. The office works that card as a queue, and it is the fastest way to catch a visit marked complete with nothing to show for it.

Proof is recorded per occurrence, so on a recurring visit the photos belong to the day they were taken rather than to the series as a whole.

Working without signal

Crews lose signal, and the app expects it. Work done offline queues and syncs when the phone reconnects, and the app tells the crew it is offline rather than pretending the save worked. Sync Center (under More) lists any work still waiting to send and the reason if something keeps failing; unsynced work stays on the device until it goes through.

Two practical consequences:

  • The office may see a stop complete late. That is sync, not a crew sitting still.
  • Have crews open the app in signal at the start of the day so the day loads before they drive out of coverage.

The rule that governs the app

Mobile never gets a feature the main app lacks. Anything crews can do on a phone exists in the office product first. That is deliberate: it keeps the two halves telling the same story, and it means office staff can always answer a crew’s question from their own screen.
