How to Add a Job Site to a Customer (Customers)
Last updated July 6, 2026 · Admins and office staff
A job site is a service location — the actual property where work happens. A customer can have any number of job sites (home, rental properties, business locations), and every job needs a job site: you can’t create a job or convert an accepted estimate to a job for a customer who has none. Job sites are added from the customer’s profile page.
Before you start
- The customer must already exist — see Create a Customer.
- Have the service address handy. Only the job site’s name is required, but the address is what your crews will actually use.
Steps
- Open the customer from Customers (see List Customers).
- On the Customer Summary, select the Job Sites tab (in the Work group).
- Click Add Job Site. (If the customer has no job sites yet, the tab shows an Add Your First Job Site button instead.)
- Fill in the Add Job Site window:
- Job Site Name — required (e.g. “Main Residence”, “Office — Elm St”).
- Address Line 1 / Address Line 2
- City / State
- Zip Code
- Click Save Job Site. (Cancel closes the window without saving.)
What happens next
The window closes and the Customer Summary reloads with a green “Success! Jobsite added successfully!” banner. The new site appears in the Job Sites tab’s list, and it becomes selectable when you create jobs for this customer. A turf-area measurement (square feet) can be recorded on the site after creation — open it from the list (see Manage Job Sites).
Tips & best practices
- Add the first job site immediately after creating the customer — it’s required before you can create a job or convert an accepted estimate to a job.
- Name sites so crews recognize them — for multi-property customers, use the street (“123 Elm St”) rather than “Site 2”.
- Record the measured turf area (after creating the site) if you do chemical applications or square-footage-based pricing — it’s used as the site’s measured area elsewhere in the product.
Troubleshooting
- The window won’t save — Job Site Name is required; the form blocks submission while it’s empty.
- Red banner after saving — a field failed validation or the save didn’t complete; your best move is to reopen Add Job Site and retry. Contact support if it persists.
- “Customer not found.” — the customer record couldn’t be matched when saving; you’re returned to the customer list. Reopen the customer and try again.
