Company Settings (Profile, Time Zone & Invoice Header)

Last updated July 6, 2026 · Owners and admins

The Company Settings tab holds your business identity — name, address, and time zone — plus the switches that control how invoices display and the header block (logo, contact info) printed on your invoices and estimates. Setting this up is step one of a new account; see Getting Started.

Before you start

  • Open Settings from the left sidebar (Settings → Company Settings) or via the gear icon in the top-right corner. The Settings page opens with a tab menu on the left: Profile, Password Change, Users, Billing, Company Settings, Document Templates, On-Hold Reasons, Daily Briefs, Reviews & Referrals.
  • Click Company Settings in that tab menu.
  • Have your logo file ready if you want it on documents — it must be an image (JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP).

Steps

  1. In Settings, select the Company Settings tab.
  2. Pick your Time Zone — Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern Time. This drives how “today” and appointment times are calculated across the app.
  3. Fill in the company identity fields: Company Name, Address, Address 2, City, State, Zip.
    • Zip must be 5 digits (12345) or ZIP+4 (12345-6789) if entered.
    • City and State also set the location for the Dashboard weather forecast.
  4. Set the invoice display switches:
    • Use Product/Service Column? — show a product/service column on invoices.
    • Use Qty/Rate Column? — show quantity and rate columns on invoices.
    • Use Sales Tax On Invoice? — enable sales tax on invoices.
    • Require completion photo for crew visits? (shown if the mobile crew app is enabled) — when on, crews must upload at least one After photo before they can complete a visit.
  5. Fill in the Invoice / Receipt Header section — this is what customers see at the top of invoices and estimates:
    • Logo — upload an image file.
    • Business Name Override — a display name for documents, if different from your company name.
    • Phone, Email, Website — contact details printed in the header. Email must be a valid email address; Website should be a full URL (e.g. https://example.com).
    • Header Note — free text (up to 500 characters), e.g. a license number or tagline.
  6. Click Update to save.

What happens next

The page reloads on the Company Settings tab with a green “Success: Company settings updated.” banner. Your logo (if uploaded) appears as a preview above the Logo field, and the header details flow through to newly generated invoices and estimates. If something was rejected, a red error banner explains which field to fix and your other tabs are unaffected.

Tips & best practices

  • Set the time zone before scheduling anything. It affects appointment display and which jobs count as “today” on the Dashboard.
  • Fill in City and State even if you don’t print addresses — they power the weather outlook and weather alerts on the Dashboard.
  • Use the Business Name Override when your legal company name differs from the brand customers know.
  • Keep the header note short. It prints on every invoice and estimate.
  • Related tabs worth setting up at the same time: Document Templates (customize the estimate/invoice header and footer layout) and On-Hold Reasons (the reason list shown when placing a job on hold — system defaults are read-only, but you can add your own company-specific reasons).

Troubleshooting

  • “Company ZIP code must be 5 digits or ZIP+4 format.” — remove any extra characters from the Zip field, or leave it blank.
  • My company name didn’t clear when I blanked it out — that’s intentional. An empty Company Name is ignored on save so a stray edit can’t erase your name; the other fields still save.
  • “Logo must be an image file.” — only JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP files are accepted.
  • Weather on the Dashboard shows the wrong city — the forecast uses the City/State saved here; update them and refresh the Dashboard.
  • My changes seemed to vanish — make sure you clicked Update at the bottom of the Company Settings form; switching tabs does not save.
